Blazing Colors

It’s been less than a week since I took this photo and the trees are already bare after a rainy and windy weekend.  Meanwhile, the three maples in my yard have been dropping leaves like a celebrity dropping names, one pretty face after another.

Here are some Haiku from past mid-October entries.

Gusts to forty miles

scatter maple leaves into

every corner.

Calico cat hunt.

Fall leaves provide camouflage

so she can stalk squirrels.

Early morning light.

Honks and quacks rise from the pond.

Overhead, two cranes.
